I thought they only usually pay the top 3 for high scratch.
I could be wrong. Since they did pay a 4th place. No shocker
why they paid this spot look who it was. I guess if my mom
worked for the dba I would get special treatment also.

If I didn’t know any better, I would think that “Mr. 300″ was voicing a ‘whine’ in their comment. But knowing that Mr. 300 is a mature, stable, well-rounded and confident individual, I can only presume that Mr. 300 was making an attempt at sarcasm. To assume otherwise would be classifying Mr. 300’s comments as whiney.
Either way, I’ll get in touch with the office and report back.

This just in…
Having just spoken with the office, 4 places for scratch WERE paid this year! Mr. 300 is correct in that observation!
I also discovered that last year, in 2008, there were ALSO four places paid for scratch! Amazing. And there have been numerous years in the past where doubles has seen more than 3 places paid for scratch finishers.
As it turns out, it is not the mother of the 2009 4th place finisher that determines prize list, but the tournament director. And the tournament director determines paid places based solely on entry totals for ANY tournament. That is to say, fourth place in scratch could be paid as well in Team or Singles. Doubles however is where the most entries seem to accumulate.
Perhaps Mr. 300 did not have those facts at hand before determining that some sarcasm on the site was needed.
It was sarcasm, right? And NOT whining?

What would the world be today without a little sarcasm. Someone brought that to my attention. If you ask pretty most
anyone whos a whos who in the dayton bowling area, im sure
could tell a story of where there was special treatment for
certain individuals. Myself included has a story. But who
cares anyway if they were as good as they thought they were
they wouldnt need it. Or would they.

Wow! So not only is you a humble hero wid great grammar skilz, but youza who’s whoo too?
You’re right. Peyton Place and sarcasm must go hand in hand.
See you on the lanes sometime, if I can ever figure out who it is hiding behind the “Mr. 300″ avatar. We all know for whom the “Mr. 800″ bell tolls, but I’ve no clue yet on yours.
Ciao.
