The GDUSBCBA cannot get youth tournament entries out to all centers....especially the host center of the AK tournament.

However they can get the golf outing flier out months in advance.

There is no real “one lane rule”.

http://www.daytonbowler.com/downloads/GDUSBC-2009-10_DoublesEntryForm-email.pdf

For the rule to be enforceable, it would have to be be listen on the above form.

It is proper etiquette for bowlers to be done in a timely manner. They announce the one lane rule in hopes to speed up play.

Hopefully you will will not be paired with such slow bowlers the next time.

I bowled on the last squad for the doubles tournament and it took way longer than necessary due to many bowlers wanting 2 lane courtesy before they bowled. The rule was stated at the beginning that it would be only a 1 lane courtesy but nobody enforced the rule. The 2 lane rule only works if everyone on the tournament uses it.

MR 800,first the word termoil was not directed at you. I didn't say MR800 was causing termoil. It was directed at anyone who doesn't want to express with proper information and facts which quit often I hear from bowlers. If I didn't respect your opinion I wouldn't have invited you to the board meeting. Second the USBC has closed all board meetings so the only way a person can state ideas, opinions or complaints is by invitation request. I only invited you and not a group or any other person.

When you say "YOU Guys" I'm not sure what that means. I have the same voting power as you do for the HOF. (ONE VOTE) I don't always agree with who is elected into the HOF but I except the vote with respect for those voting. I think other should also.

MR800 the reason I invited you to the board meeting so you could state all your views. You have some valid points but you need to express in the proper channels so people will listen to you and not think your just spouting off. I've open the door for you and now the ball is in your court.

Bob,

I will make your meeting and express my views.

The GDUSBC makes a forum available on the internet and then you use the word "termoil" when someone expresses a valid opinion. You might be surprised how many people might be at the meeting with me that share my (or a similar) version of my opinion.

If you (and others) would re-read my post, I have never said that my "criteria" should be used for induction into the HOF. I said that no one should be inducted in front of Stan, Eddie Graham, and Kretzer unless they meet my criteria.

One of these bowlers is the best Dayton has ever seen. But then again, BK has not won a city title. The singles titles he won on 3 continents and 2 megabuck wins give him a free pass there. You guys have inducted Mr. Cowley (a deserving HOF member) while he and BK are the same age. Then you change the age rule without regard to who you have disrespected in the process. BK would like to be inducted while his family (mother) is around to enjoy this occasion.

Stan has been kicked in the teeth 2 years in a row. While waiting for his induction (which should have happened 2 years ago) his mother died. HOF induction is not just for the bowler. It is about sharing the induction with your family.

The GDUSBC has a history of inducting their own (directors & friends). And believe it or not, the order people are inducted does matter.

It is too bad William Gaines is not alive to tell his story. But then, I (we) would hear about sour grapes etc.

As a society we should progress. My post was to stop the creation of a Hall of Friends.

Now if you want to discuss termoil, we all know what happened when a multi year employee lost their job earlier this year. ;)

The HOF should start with age 45 for achievment. The guide lines would include the 3 bowlers Mr 800 mention as long as the age requirement is meant. I'm sure with time that all three will be in the HOF. What each and every person who have concern about the HOF structure should do is work within the association HOF committe instead of causing termoil outside with remarks that will not make the HOF the high achievment for the betterment of our sport. MR 800 I as VP of the GDUSBC personally invite you to our Jan.11 board meeting at 6:30pm and I will see that you will get to express all of your views. Now everyone who views this site knows about the invitation and will know if you attended.

I agree with you MR 800, the hall of fame should be something you get elected to for doing something special or being an ambassador in this sport. i have noticed people get into the hall of fame with bowling 3-300 games and 1-800 series. I understand there is a 3 options to get into the hall of fame but we need to give respect and let in the bowlers that are qualified now because of what they have accomplished and to not hold the out because they are under the age of 50.

It is time for a decision.

Do we have a Hall of Fame or a Hall of Friends?

The next bowlers to go in should be Stan Eaton, Brian Kretzer, and Eddie Graham.

Stan was a dominating bowler in the 80's. His resume speaks for itself.

Brian has won singles tournaments on 3 continents.

Eddie has won the RPC and bowled in the Tournament of Champions on tour.

Do not put bowlers in and change the age rule and keep older deserving bowlers out.

Before you nominate for the Hall of Fame as these questions:
1. Has this person won the old Masters Traveling singles or doubles or been high average in the Ed Camp traveling league?
2. Has this person competed in the US Open and made the cut.
3. Has this person won multiple singles tournaments?
4. Has this bowler ever made the top 16 of a PBA regional?
5. Has this person ever bowled won in excess of 5K in any tournament outside of Dayton?
6. Has this person ever won any sweeper at a megabuck tournament?
7. Has this person ever had a top 10 in the USBC?
8. Has this person ever won a state title(s)?
9. Has this bowler ever made the finals of the old US Open qualifier in Dayton? or won a spot in the State US Open qualifier?
10. Has this bowler ever had a top 5 in the Hoinke Classic?

You can have all the criteria you want.....but if you cannot say yes to 9 of the above 10 questions....then they do not belong in the HOF before the above bowlers.

If you cannot say yes to 5 of the above 10 questions they should not get on the ballot.

Dameat,

To change your password:

Log into the forum. You'll notice near the top left of your screen something that says Welcome Dameat...

Click on your Name.

You'll see your profile.

Look to the upper right portion of your screen.

You should see a tabbed link that says "Edit"

Click that.

Now you'll be taken to the screen where you can edit not only your profile information, but you can change your password there too.

...
..
.
Let me know if you want me to break this down into smaller steps. I know that for righties, from what I've heard, too much thought down the same path tends to burn things up.

;)

See ya.

Michael
