The HOF should start with age 45 for achievment. The guide lines would include the 3 bowlers Mr 800 mention as long as the age requirement is meant. I'm sure with time that all three will be in the HOF. What each and every person who have concern about the HOF structure should do is work within the association HOF committe instead of causing termoil outside with remarks that will not make the HOF the high achievment for the betterment of our sport. MR 800 I as VP of the GDUSBC personally invite you to our Jan.11 board meeting at 6:30pm and I will see that you will get to express all of your views. Now everyone who views this site knows about the invitation and will know if you attended.

Bob,
I will make your meeting and express my views.
The GDUSBC makes a forum available on the internet and then you use the word "termoil" when someone expresses a valid opinion. You might be surprised how many people might be at the meeting with me that share my (or a similar) version of my opinion.
If you (and others) would re-read my post, I have never said that my "criteria" should be used for induction into the HOF. I said that no one should be inducted in front of Stan, Eddie Graham, and Kretzer unless they meet my criteria.
One of these bowlers is the best Dayton has ever seen. But then again, BK has not won a city title. The singles titles he won on 3 continents and 2 megabuck wins give him a free pass there. You guys have inducted Mr. Cowley (a deserving HOF member) while he and BK are the same age. Then you change the age rule without regard to who you have disrespected in the process. BK would like to be inducted while his family (mother) is around to enjoy this occasion.
Stan has been kicked in the teeth 2 years in a row. While waiting for his induction (which should have happened 2 years ago) his mother died. HOF induction is not just for the bowler. It is about sharing the induction with your family.
The GDUSBC has a history of inducting their own (directors & friends). And believe it or not, the order people are inducted does matter.
It is too bad William Gaines is not alive to tell his story. But then, I (we) would hear about sour grapes etc.
As a society we should progress. My post was to stop the creation of a Hall of Friends.
Now if you want to discuss termoil, we all know what happened when a multi year employee lost their job earlier this year. ;)

MR 800,first the word termoil was not directed at you. I didn't say MR800 was causing termoil. It was directed at anyone who doesn't want to express with proper information and facts which quit often I hear from bowlers. If I didn't respect your opinion I wouldn't have invited you to the board meeting. Second the USBC has closed all board meetings so the only way a person can state ideas, opinions or complaints is by invitation request. I only invited you and not a group or any other person.
When you say "YOU Guys" I'm not sure what that means. I have the same voting power as you do for the HOF. (ONE VOTE) I don't always agree with who is elected into the HOF but I except the vote with respect for those voting. I think other should also.
MR800 the reason I invited you to the board meeting so you could state all your views. You have some valid points but you need to express in the proper channels so people will listen to you and not think your just spouting off. I've open the door for you and now the ball is in your court.

I did some research on how many directors in the last 15 years have been nominated while being a director on board of DBA or the GDUSBC for achievment. The answer is 3 and 1 was former director.
